Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22, 1984, at New York City New York. She is an American actor and singer whose talents have gained her recognition across a range of kinds of genres, from thrillers to adventures to period films. Johansson has a father who is a filmmaker and architect. The family is from New York City. Hunter is the sister of Johansson was also born in the city of New York. By the time she was seven, her interest in acting had grown. She began to audition for commercials. She joined the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute shortly after and went to the Professional Children's School, Manhattan to further her education. At age eight she appeared together with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry and, at the age of nine she made her debut in film in Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson subsequently appeared on screen in Just Cause (1995) but her debut came in Manny & Lo (1996) a coming-of-age film about siblings who are orphaned and run away. The Horse Whisperer (2000) the film in which she played a teenager with a deformity caused by an accident, earned the film critical acclaim. Then in Ghost World 2001 (as the young, sarcastic teenager Rebecca) Johansson was awarded an even greater amount of attention. She has delivered astonishing performances in plays like Wildflower. Renee Felice Smith was a teenager when she first began her entertainment career. As a child she became interested in acting. Smith got her first of her acting gigs at the tender age of six. The role was in a Dannon yogurt TV commercial. Like many young actresses she began her professional career in the theatre. As she was making her stage debut with Wildflower she also worked in various projects throughout the USA. She studied at Stonestreet Studios, the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
