Ford enjoyed a lengthy and prosperous career as a heavy-metal artist after the split of her group in 1979. Ford began to take voice classes shortly after releasing her debut album 'Dancin' on the Edge'. Both the albums did not receive much success, and Ford was a bit absent from the world of rock for a few years. The smash hit album Lita was released in 1989, was the trigger for her return. The hit single, 'Kiss Me Deadly as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" have been hugely popular. Unfortunately, the success in her professional career was brief, and for many years she was out of the industry of entertainment.
